Connecting cables 95 mm

using alternative materials
In deviation from the above procedure, an alternative
method can be used to connect the cables. If in doubt,
please contact Eaton Service for advice.

ARNING
Connect aluminium cables to the copper
connection pins of the Magnefix using
copper/aluminium crimp cable sockets.
This prevents stress corrosion.
Alternative termination

Terminate the cable with a cable core clamp in
accordance with the cable
manufacturer’s instructions.

Make sure the cable core clamp is adequately
insulated up to the copper part of the cable socket.

Slide the crimp hose sealing the insulating conduit up
the cable.

Slide the insulating conduit with the sleeve up the
cable.

Fix the cable core clamp to the connection pin of the
Magnefix using an approved clamp, in accordance
with the relevant instructions.

AUTION
A minimum clearance of 3 mm is required between
the wall of the insulating conduits and the cable
core clamp or cable termination.

Slide the insulating conduits and the sleeves up the
cast resin insulated members. Check that the flattened
sides abut.

Slide the crimp hose over the insulating conduit up to
the stop.

Ensure there is a perfect seal between the cable and
the insulating conduit.

Fit both protection covers and secure them. Ensure
that the insulating conduits provide sufficient support.
10 Fit both protection covers and secure them.
