Installing your car stereo

Pontiac

Grand Prix 1985-1987

Bonneville 1982-1986

To install your car stereo:

1

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit.

2

Remove the three screws from the top edge of the dash trim bezel.

3

Remove the four screws from the metal steering column trim, then remove the trim.

4

Remove the four screws exposed at the bottom edge of the dash trim bezel.

5

Remove the cigarette lighter and retainer ring, then remove the dash trim bezel.

6

Remove the hardware that secures the factory mounting brackets to the factory head 
unit. Remove and retain the brackets.

7

Go to “Completing the installation” on page 76.
