Installing your car stereo

Oldsmobile

Toronado 1982-1985

To install your car stereo:

1

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit.

2

Depress the clip located behind the headlight knob, then remove the knob.

3

Remove the three screws that secure the steering column trim, then remove it.

4

Remove the four screws from the bottom edge of the dash trim bezel, then remove it.

5

Remove the hardware that secures the factory mounting brackets to the factory head 
unit. Remove and retain the brackets.

6

Go to “Completing the installation” on page 76.
