Installing your car stereo

Buick

Skylark 1983-1985

To install your car stereo:

1

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit.

2

Remove the four screws from the top edge of the instrument panel.

3

Remove the one screw from the bottom-left corner of the panel.

4

Remove two screws from the steering column trim, then remove the trim.

5

Pull up and out on the dash trim bezel, then remove it.

6

Remove the hardware that secures the factory mounting brackets to the factory head 
unit. Remove and retain the brackets.

7

Go to “Completing the installation” on page 76.
