RTS HUMIDIFIER RX SERIES INSTALLATION, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
Overview
The best way to determine how often your humidifier needs maintenance is to
remove the heater plate and inspect it for mineral deposits after three months of
operation. Hours of operation and duty cycle will determine your maintenance
schedule, as will water quality.
WATER QUALITY AND MAINTENANCE
Maintenance requirements vary with water quality, because tap and softened
water carry a variety of minerals and other materials in a mix that varies from
location to location. Very hard (high mineral content) water requires more
frequent cleaning and drain/flush cycles than water with low mineral content.
RO water and softened water significantly reduce mineral accumulation inside
the humidifier.
Note: Solids, like silica, are not removed in the softening process.
