•
LAN interface referring to the ETH Port
•
VPN interface referring to a virtual network that is used to secure
data transmission (see chapter 3.3.2 for more details)
•
By default the WAN interface is not used
Usually there is no need to change the VPN and WAN interface settings.
To change the IP address of the device’s LAN port click on the “Edit” button
to the right of the LAN network, or click the
LAN
sub tab of the
Interfaces
tab.
By default the device has a static IP address, but you can also configure it as a
DHCP client. Therefore change the “Protocol” to DHCP, click “Switch
protocol” and setup the client. If you use a dynamic IP address you will need
to use the “Dynamic DNS” service, so that the transmitter can reach the
receiver with a fixed hostname (see chapter 3.3.1).
3.4.2
Static routes
Static routes can be used to route packets for single devices or a complete
subnetworks over a specific interface and gateway. For an example, how to
route traffic over the LAN port instead of using the LTE interface, see chapter
2.6.1 of the Quickstart manual.
3.4.3
Firewall
In the
Firewall
tab you can setup fireall zones, port forwarding and traffic
rules.
3.4.3.1
Generel Settings
Here you can change the behavior of the different firewall zones. By default
there are three zones configured: LAN, WAN and VPN. Usually there is no
need to adjust this settings.
3.4.3.2
Port Forwards
Port forwarding allows for services on the Transmitter to be reachable on
external ports of the router. By default there are no rules defined.
