pressure chamber. The air, from the cylinder, passes from the high pressure
chamber to medium pressure one where expands to counteract the action of a
calibrated spring and so causes the closing of the movable that is placed in the
high pressure chamber. In the moving element is placed a sealing element that
makes the two chambers air-‐tight when they are not in communication. The
pressure reducer C2000 presents a further small chamber communicating with
the high pressure chamber when the movable element is open and with the
medium pressure chamber when it is closed. The air contained in this volume
pushes on the movable part making faster the closure and thereby speeding the
compensation (active compensation). The pressure reducer C2000 is equipped
with a safety relief valve. In the models DIABLO INDUSTRIAL MM, DIABLO
INDUSTRIAL PI and DIABLO INDUSTRIAL PIZ it is also equipped with a whistle
warning when the air cylinder is about to finish. (In the DIABLO ADVANCED and
DIABLO PROFESSIONAL models, the whistle it is housed in a separate chest block).
The cut section of the pressure reducer C2000 is shown in figure 2.
•
Pressure gauge lightweight and small size which is well within the accuracy
limits of class 1.6, required by Standard EN 137:2006. The pressure gauge has a
lightweight case with the radial connection. The gauge has a luminescent dial for
easy reading in low light conditions. (In models DIABLO ADVANCED and DIABLO
PROFESSIONAL it is placed on the chest block).
•
Chest block unit (models DIABLO ADVANCED and DIABLO PROFESSIONAL). In
models DIABLO ADVANCED is particularly light and comfortable thanks to the
single high pressure hose that feeds it while the medium pressure hose feeding
the demand valve is on the other side. In models DIABLO PROFESSIONAL both the
medium pressure and high pressure hoses reach the chest block. The schematic
single stage chest block is shown in figure 3, and houses:
o
A single stage whistle powered by a small air pressure reduction system.
The system emits a whistle when the residual pressure in the cylinder
drops below 55 bar or when the amount of residual air present in the
cylinder drops below 200 l. It has a maximum power consumption of 5
l/min and is driven by the high pressure and driven by the medium.
o
A pressure gauge. (See paragraph above).
•
A high pressure and a medium pressure supply hose made of reinforced
rubber that withstand a test pressure equal to two times the operating pressure
and a burst pressure greater than three times the operating pressure.
•
A flow limiter that limits the loss of air from the cylinder in case of accidental
breakage of the pressure gauge or of the high pressure hose. In fact it is present
on the pressure reducer a calibrated hole that limits the flow to 25 l/min (with an
upstream pressure of 200 bar).
•
E400 AP/A demand valve is of the first breath, positive pressure type
compatible with the full range of compressed air breathing apparatus DIABLO
series, equipped with thread M45x3 connector to the mask according to EN 148-‐
3. E400 AP/A belongs to the most advanced generation of automatic demand
