Precautions on unsymmetrical 
platforms

On symmetrical platform configurations, it is sufficient 

to place a single scaffold tube as diagonal bracing over 

the joint between the vertical profiles.

Symmetrical unit 

On unsymmetrical platform configurations (e.g. plat-

forms with corner transitions) or where the left and right 

vertical profiles of a climbing unit are spaced closely 

together, the diagonal bracing must be made as fol-

lows:

Remember to leave cut-outs for the scaffold 

tubes in the platform decking!

If the loads on the left and right vertical profiles 

of a climbing unit are very unsymmetrical, 

smoother and more uniform climbing can be 

obtained by compensating for the uneven loads 

with ballast weights.

Caution when using ballast weights!

Do not exceed the permitted total weight of 

the climbing unit and the permitted platform 

load.
