1. Position the vehicle on a levelsurface.
2. Turn Off the engine and allow approximately 5 min-
utes for the oilto settle to the bottom ofthe crankcase.
3. Remove the engine oillevelindicator (dipstick).
4. W ipe the engine oillevelindicator (dipstick)clean.
5. Install the engine oil level indicator (dipstick) and
make sure itis seated in the tube.
6. Remove the engine oillevelindicator(dipstick),keep-
ing the handle above the tip,and read the oillevelon the
engine oillevelindicator (dipstick).
7. Add oilonly ifthe levelis below the “SAFE” range (at
or below
the “ADD” mark) on the engine oil level
indicator (dipstick).Adding one quart of oil when the
reading is atthe ADD mark willresultin a reading atthe
top ofthe SAFE zone on these engines.
CAUTION!
Overfilling or underfilling the crankcase willcause
oilaeration or loss of oilpressure.This could dam-
age your engine.
