Radio operation
Your AV-receiver is equipped with a high-quality FM / medium wave (AM)
receiver with RDS-function. RDS (Radio Data System) is a system for the
additional information transmittal with the FM-radio programme. RDS ra-
dio tuners are able to filter this information out of the transmitted signal
and make it useful for different functions, e.g. for showing the station’s
name in the display or for searching for stations with certain programme
contents. Not all FM-stations transmit RDS-information.
Searching for channels
1. Press the
TUNER
key of the remote control. In the display, the abbreviati-
on of the frequency band (FM or AM) as well as the currently set receiving
frequency appears. You can also turn the INPUT SELECTOR until you see
the radio function in the display.
2. In order to switch to the other frequency band, press the BAND key of the
remote control again.
3. Using the
AUTO/MANUAL
key of the remote control, you can switch bet-
ween manual and automatic channel search.
In automatic channel search (= “AUTO” can be seen in the display), press
the or – key slightly in order to make the device search for
the next channel having a higher or lower frequency and a sufficiently
strong signal. Then the search stops and the found channel is played. In
manual channel search, you press the or – key repeatedly in
order to change the receiving frequency upwards or downwards and to ad-
just the desired channel.

This procedure lends itself if the signal of the desired channel is not strong enough
for being perceived by the automatic channel search.
4. Press the STEREO key at the device or the ST/MONO key of the remote
control during FM-operation in order to switch between stereo and mono
operation. In stereo operation, the stereo sign “

in order to reduce the noise.
