In brief:
Ø
Signals reaching the receiver via a video input can only reach the TV via the output “Vi-
deo-Monitor-Out”.
Ø
Signals reaching the receiver via a S-Video input can only reach the TV via the output
“S-Video-Monitor-Out”.
Ø
Signals reaching the receiver via a Component video input can only reach the TV via the
output “Component Video-Monitor-Out”.
Tip:
When purchasing your AV-receiver, you watched out for quality. Do the same when selec-
ting your speaker and audio cables. Cross-section and conducting material play an
impor-
tant role
when it comes to music pleasure.
Analogue and digital connections
Many video components have analogue and digital outputs (e.g. DVD-players). We recom-
mend you to select the digital connection if possible, as only then can you enjoy DTS and
Dolby Digital Surround. With an analogue connection, your receiver can only operate in the
operation modes DOLBY PRO LOGIC II, MUSIC, THEATER, HALL or 5 Stereo.
We have provided your receiver with connections of both digi-
tal formats (coaxial and optical). These inputs are named
COAXIAL DIGITAL IN, VIDEO 1 COAXIAL IN, VIDEO 2 OPTI-
CAL IN and AV-3 IN OPTICAL (Front panel). If your video devi-
ces have coaxial and/or optical digital outputs, connect them
here.
Tip:
As a protection against dust, there is a cap on the optical digital input. If you want to use the
connection, remove the cap carefully. Keep it thoroughly so that you can put it on again if
you remove the optical cable from this connection again.
Audio connections
In addition to the digital inputs, your AV-receiver has
analogue audio inputs as well: AUX / VIDEO 1 / VIDEO 2 /
DVD. Here, you connect the analogue audio outputs of
your audio and video devices via RCA cable. The "PHO-
NO" input is designed for the connection of a turntable
with magnetic pickup. In order to connect an audiotape
or cassette device, please use the TAPE terminals. For a
better overview and in order not to interchange the stereo channels you should always con-
nect the white plug of the cinch cable with the white socket (left channel) and the red plug
with the red socket (right channel).
Tips:
Ø
We want to emphasis that the digital inputs of your AV-receiver can also be used for con-
necting pure audio devices.
Ø
Please plug the connector firmly in the socket so that a reliable contact is established.
