5.5 Start-up
Once the heater has been fully assembled and connected,
you can now check that it will function correctly.
The following minimum checks must be performed:
Insulation test with a voltage of at least 500V.
The insulation must have a resistance of at least 0.5 M
Ω
.
Measure the heater's power requirement. Alternatively, a
cold resistance measurement can be performed.
It is not necessary to have a qualified electrician perform the
initial heating test on the device.
5.6 Repeat installation
If a device which has already been in operation is disassem-
bled and moved to a different location, you must also perform
the start-up tests on it before putting it into operation again.
When you reassemble the heater, check the insulation to see
that it has not been damaged during the move.
ATTENTION!
Damaged thermal insulation must be replaced before the
heater is used again!
The first time the storage heater is charged after it has been
reassembled, the entire process, starting from cold (room
temperature) to switching off the charging regulator, must be
monitored by a qualified installer.
Measure the amount of electricity drawn by the heater (kWh).
This must not be more than 125% of the nominal charge
stated on the identification plate.
