AGITATION
Once you have loaded the instrument, it will start agitating the samples.
Agitation is controlled by two motors: the translator motor that turns the plate by 90° and another motor
that allows the plate to rotate on itself.
During this phase (lasting 15 minutes), the blood contained in the test tubes is agitated in order to
ensure homogeneous suspension of the red blood cells.
REFERENCE READING
When agitation is complete, the instrument takes a reading on each sample to check the level of blood
in the test tube.
SEDIMENTATION
After the reference reading, the instrument waits for 16 minutes for the erythrocytes to settle.
ANALYTICAL READING
The last phase of the cycle is final reading, which allows the instrument to obtain the ESR values which
are then provided to the user according to the settings.
The instrument at the end of the cycle automatically prints the results as
shown in figure 4.1.3.

Filling of the test tube
For a correct execution of the ESR exam by the VES-MATIC CUBE 30 instrument, the level of blood in
the test tube is fundamental. The instrument itself will verify the correct filling of the tube, measuring
the level and comparing it with the preset tolerance values of maximum and minimum level.
