TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTRUMENT
CENTRAL UNIT
This unit controls and processes the incoming data from the sensors and manages all the peripheral
devices; it comprises a FLASHEPROM containing the program and an EEPROM where the read and
processed data is stored.
OPTICAL READING UNIT
This unit is composed of a phot phototransistor pair.
TEST TUBE HOLDING PLATE TILTING AND ROTATION MOTORS
One motor tilts the test tube holding plate by 90° and another motor rotates it by means of the shaft in
order to ensure homogeneous suspension of the red blood cells.
OPTICAL READING UNIT MOTOR
This motor raises the optical reading unit to check the presence of the test tubes, the blood level and
its sedimentation.
KEYPAD
The keypad has 5 keys which are used to activate the VES-MATIC CUBE 30 functions.
TEST TUBE HOLDING PLATE
The plate has a radial crown with 30 numbered positions into which the test tubes are inserted. These
are symmetrically tilted with respect to the rotation axis in such a way as to arrange the test tubes on
the cone generator.
The test tube holding plate is also equipped with a reducer required for use of rubber-capped test
tubes.
Use the reducer only when using rubber-capped test tubes.
BEEPER
The function of the beeper is to draw the attention of the operator during particular phases of the test
execution in the operating cycle.
It emits a beep each time a key on the keypad is pressed.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR
This sensor is fitted on the central unit in proximity of the test tube holding plate and is used to
measure the temperature.
PRINTER
The results of the analysis are printed at the end of each operating cycle.
DISPLAY
The display is used to show all the instrument messages.
