Appendix A:
Screen Messages
This appendix covers various screens you may encounter while
operating the Quest portable. Some screens are prompt screens and
others are “error message” screens. Consult the following table for an
explanation.

Insert Card
You are trying to record or play
without a Voicedata S Card (disk) or
without it being properly inserted.
Install the card or move the slide
control to the
Stop
position.
Return To Stop
You are trying to record or play from
an inappropriate display.
Folder and Mail
The Voicedata S Card is missing.
Icons Inaccessible
Walkabout Disabled
The Quest portable has been placed
in the Docking Station, or the card
door is open.
Low Batteries
The batteries are getting weak.
Replace them as soon as possible or
switch to the DC 3V Power Supply.
This screen flashes over the current
display and a three-second warning
tone sounds (every fifteen minutes).
The display should return to the
previous screen to allow you to finish
what you were doing.
Format/Cancel
Indicates a new card requires
formatting. Select
Format
.
