12. STORAGE AND TRANSPORT REQUIREMENTS
Between the practice exercises, training self-rescuers and regenerative cartridges shall be stored in a
special room ready for the next practice.
CAUTION!
It is not allowed to store the regenerative cartridge as part of the self-rescuer.
INFORMATION!
When storing cartridges in protective bags, overpressure may occur, which does not affect their
suitability for intended use.
During warehouse storage, training self-rescuers and regenerative cartridges shall be stored in dry
enclosed spaces at air temperature range from +5 °C to +40 °C and relative humidity of not more than
80%, separately from corroding substances.
Training self-rescuers and regenerative cartridges shall be transported in an enclosed transport at
ambient temperatures from -20 °C to +50 °C and relative humidity of 80%.
In the case of transportation at subzero temperatures, it is necessary to hold the TRAINER training
self-rescuers, regenerative cartridges, their kits, HME and reusable air systems in a dry room with an
air temperature of +20...+40 °C for 24 hours before their intended use.
Training self-rescuers and regenerative cartridges can be shipped by all types of transport, including
air transport, in sealed heated compartments.
13. DISPOSAL
DANGER!
Spontaneous ignition is possible in case of presence of organic contaminants, including fuels and
lubricants, in which oxygen carrier has direct contact with air. Such kits should be placed in a designated
safe place, where they will be stored, and then disposed in accordance with the instructions of the
manufacturer or the authorized local representative.
The used disposable kits, training regenerative cartridges, as well as kits found to be unsuitable due to
damage or life expiration shall be disposed in accordance with the applicable local laws.
DANGER!
It is highly recommended disposing the used regenerative cartridges and disposable air systems in
specialized organizations.
Organizations that dispose training self-rescuers and neutralize the oxygen carriers shall have:
•
waste treatment license, including proper disposal of training self-rescuer and neutralization of
the oxygen carriers;
• formal permission of the manufacturer;
• process procedure for the disposal of self-rescuers and neutralization of the oxygen carriers
approved by the manufacturer.
DANGER!
It is strictly forbidden to burn and discard the disposable kits and training regenerative cartridges in
public places or transfer them for recycling to unauthorized organizations.
