The procedures in this document require that you remove the cover and work inside the system. While working inside the system, do not attempt to service
the system except as explained in this document and the

Recommended Tools
You may need the following items to perform the procedures in this section:

Wrist grounding strap
Control-Panel Assembly
Removing the Control Panel
1.
Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.
2.
Open the system. See "
Opening the System
" in "Troubleshooting Your System."
3.
Remove fan 1. See "
Removing a System Fan
" in "Installing System Components."
4.
Remove the three control-panel securing screws from the system front panel. See
Figure C
-1
.
5.
Lift the control-panel assembly out of the chassis.
6.
Disconnect the control-panel cable from the control-panel assembly.
