Assigning or modifying a management IPv6 address on VxBlock
Systems
Change the management IP address on a service profile or service profile template using the Cisco UCS
Manager.
About this task
IPv4 addresses are supported on Vblock Systems and VxBlock Systems. IPv6 addresses are supported
on VxBlock Systems.
Before you begin
Refer to
Creating an in-band network profile for the IPv6 management address assignment
to create the
IPv6 KVM VLAN, VLAN group, and in-band network profile.
Cisco only supports IPv6 KVM or CIMC addresses using an in-band profile.
Procedure

On the
Servers
tab, select
Servers
>
Service Profiles
>
Root
.

Select the desired service profile or service profile template.

On the
General
tab, click
Change Management IP Address
.

From the
Inband
tab, select the KVM VLAN in the
Network
drop-down list.

From the
Inband IPv6
tab, select
Static
or the IPv6 IP pool from the
Management IP Address
Policy
drop-down list.

If
Static
is selected, type the IPv6 IP address, prefix, default gateway address, and DNS server
addresses, and click
OK
.
Assigning service profiles
Assign service profiles to the Cisco UCS servers using the Cisco UCS Manager.
Procedure

From the
Navigation
window, select the
Servers
tab.

On the
Servers
tab, select
Service Profile Host-01-1
.

Click
Change Service Profile Association
.

For
Server Assignment
, click
Select Existing Server
.

Choose the appropriate blade for the profile.
