Installing and removing server components

Cable management arm component

Removing CMA in a hard drive tray

Prerequisites

1

Ensure that you read the Safety instructions.

2

Complete the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.

3

Remove the 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch hot swappable HDDs.

Steps

1

Locate the power cable connecting the CMA to the NPDB. Disconnect it from the NPDB. 

2

Locate the signal cables connected to the PCIe raid or Mini PERC slot, see your specific configuration 

for the connection type. Disconnect the signal cable from the slot.
