Maintenance test
According to IEC 61481-1:..., voltage detectors must be regularly subjected to a maintenance test. The
user is responsible for drawing up a maintenance schedule depending on the conditions of use. The test inter-
vals are defined in national regulations.
In Germany, voltage detectors must be checked according to the DGUV regulation 3 (previously BGV A3)
for compliance with the limit values as specified in the electrotechnical rules. The intervals for maintenance
tests of
PHE4
voltage detectors depend on their conditions of use, for example frequency of use, environmental
conditions, transport, etc., however, they must be tested at least every 6 years according to DGUV regulation
3 (previously BGV A3).
Maintenance tests are documented on the device.
9. Cleaning and care
The
PHE4
voltage detector must be handled with care.
Clean soiled
PHE4
voltage detectors using a lint-free damp cloth (e.g. wash leather) before and after each
use. No cleaning agents or solvents may be used. The membrane in the sound outlet is extremely sensitive
and must neither be cleaned nor contacted in any other way and must be regularly checked for signs of
damage.
