9.1 Open the housing

by truning the sealing ring

on the lower end of the indicator counterclockwise
(the insulating stick does not have to be removed) (see Fig. 9).
9.2 Remove the electronic element (

) from the housing (see Fig. 9).
9.3
Battery maintenance / replacement
Regularly check the condition of the batteries (e.g. every three months) and make sure that they have
not leaked. If lithium batteries are used, the test intervals can be extended.
Battery replacement (see Fig. 9):
Replace the 9V block battery

in the upper end of the electronics slide-in unit in the battery
compartment by a new one (observe battery s/-).
The following batteries may be used:
9 V block batteries (IEC 6LR61), leak-proof, for example:
• Energizer Alkaline No. 522
• Panasonic XTREME POWER
• Duracell Alkaline Manganese MN 1604
• Kodak XTRALIFE Alkaline Manganese K9V
or
• Ultralife Lithium Cell U9VL
Used batteries must be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner.
