the printable outputs as well as the non-printable. If the data should be useable in a spreadsheet see:
OUTPUT TO A SPREADSHEET.
9.5
OUTPUT, EXTERNAL INITIATED
In principle the external PC must send a request for data to the CAL3K and the unit replies with the
requested data. This requires that an App to run on the PC; it could be:
A)
The DDS Windows Software App (supplied)
B)
A PC terminal emulator or other communications App
A PC with the DDS CAL3K App can be connected via:
1)
RS232 cable
2)
USB cable
3)
BLUETOOTH BRIDGE
A Terminal emulator requires a RS232 cable connection.
9.6
OUTPUT TO A SPEADSHEET
An output to a spreadsheet can be facilitated in a round-about fashion by using a standard terminal
emulator like TERATERM VT. Then the data can be transferred to a spreadsheet via its own file saving
method or transferring it to the Windows Notepad. Important is that the data are saved on the PC in file
NAME.CSV, which is readable by the spreadsheet.
9.7
OUTPUT TO AN EXTERNAL PC
This is not for the faint hearted. You need to be a software nerd to understand the following command
structure which request data from the CAL3K.
Each CAL3K has a two-letter type identification:
CAL3k-AP
CP
CAL3K-A
CA
CAL3K-F
CF
CAL3K-ST
CT
CAL3K-S
CS
Then a command must be transmitted to the CAL3K, which starts with the two-letter type ID followed
by the actual command:
__X
Reset the unit (Do not use! It will terminate the present operation)
__HU;a;l
Upload results form ‘U’ from record ‘a’, length ‘l’
__HN;a;l
Upload results form ‘N’ from record ‘a’, length ‘l’
__HI;a;l
Upload results form ‘A-H’ from record ‘a’, length ‘l’
__HH
Upload form ‘U’ header
__HK

__HJ
