corresponding Heating or Cooling mode. If set to Heating mode, set the heat pump temperature to the
maximum available on the heat pump. If set to Cooling mode, set the heat pump temperature to the
minimum available on the heat pump.
The spa controller has been designed to operate with any generic heat pump that does not require soft
shutdown.
If the selected heat pump requires a soft shut down, please consult your heat pump manufacturer for
advice on compatibility.
When in Heat Boost, the heater element will only switch on under the following two conditions:
• the set temperature is at 2.5 degrees Celsius or more below the set temperature point, or
• the heat pump has been operating for more than 1 hour and the set temperature has not been reached.

2. Select the HEAT PUMP menu item.
3. Press the SCROLL button to begin heat pump setting selection.

7.9.5 High Heat Offset
The SP800 is equipped with a dual stage heater - low and high. The high setting uses the full rated
power of the element whereas the low setting uses approximately half of the rated power. The colour
of the heater LED changes depending on which setting is used, it is red when the heater is on high and
orange when on low.
The high heat offset setting allows you to configure how far below the set point the water temperature
must fall before the high setting is used. By default this feature is disabled and the controller will attempt
to use the high setting whenever heating is required. Note that high heat may not always be available
due to possible load shedding when accessories are turned on (depends on installer configuration).
Range of adjustment is 0.00 (default, off) to 5.00 in steps of 0.25 degrees Celsius. At the maximum
setting of 5.00, the pool water must be five or more degrees below the set temperature before the high
setting will be used.
7.9.6 Changing the High Heat Offset Setting
1. Select the ADV. OPTIONS submenu from the main menu.
2. Select the HIGH HT OFFS menu item.
3. Press the Scroll button to begin high heat offset modification.
4. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the offset as required. Hold down either button for automatic
key press repeat.
Press the SCROLL button to confirm the current setting and return to the ADV. OPTIONS submenu.
7.9.7 Auto Filtration/Sanitising (N/A for 24HR circ installations)
Automatic filtration is provided to ensure that the pool water is filtered for at least a minimum time
each day regardless of how often the pool is used for normal operation or how long the pump runs
for heat maintenance. If the pump has not run long enough during normal operation the system will
automatically run it for an additional period to meet the minimum filtration time specified by the user.
