Gloss Determination
Datacolor 20D includes a feature that
determines
the gloss of the sample being measured. When this
feature is enabled, it requires that two measurements are made for each sample.
NOTES
The gloss value reported is based on the use of a 60° gloss meter.
Using this feature slows the measurement time. If you do
n’t need gloss information, disable this feature
to reduce the measurement time.
When this feature is activated, the gloss icon shows “enabled” and the colorimetric output includes a gloss
value:

Use the black navigation button on the instrument to navigate to the
Options
page on the live
bar, and select it.
Navigate to the
Gloss
field, and select it. The gloss selection will update, indicated by the gloss icon
on the title bar.
LRV Evaluation
LRV is the lightness reflectance value. It is the Y tristimulus value for the sample and is used in paint
industry to describe the lightness of a color.
