Mounting the control unit
The control unit can be placed where convenient in an apartment,
however not more than approximately 10 meters from the bed.
A SIM-card must be
inserted into the SIM-
card slot on the rear
panel of the control
unit.
The card is inserted
correctly with the slanted
corner towards the left.
Press the card fully into
the slot until a ”click” is
heard.
The SIM-card enables the control unit to send an alarm call via the cellular network
to the caretaker’s phone. The SIM-card has a phone number.
Write this number down and save the information.
If the SIM-card has a PIN code, it
MUST
be removed before
insertion to the control unit. See troubleshooting on page 14.
The Epi-Care®
free
will go into error mode, if the PIN code is not removed.
Insert the 12V adapter in a nearby power outlet and insert
the adapter’s square plug
in the 12VDC socket at the rear-panel of the control unit.
When the control unit is powered up, it will perform a self-test procedure and will then
start searching for the sensor. The text
“SENSOR STARTUP” is shown in the
display. As soon as the sensor is connected, the control unit will enter monitoring
mode. This will be signalled by a green light and the text
“OK” in the display,
indicating monitoring is working. The control unit shows the sen
sor’s battery state by
a symbol in the display.
When the sensor battery needs charging, the control unit will flash red and audible
sound will indicate the sensor needs to be charged.
When the control unit is powered off, it will send an alarm signal indicating that the
monitoring has ended.
