System Logic Flow and Input Options 

Two DVI (Digital Visual Interface) or VGA (Video Graphics Array) sources may be connected 

at one time. These sources come from a variety of devices, such as desktop computers, 

laptops, or content servers. 

Figure 4 

depicts both the DVI and VGA inputs.  

The processor accepts VMax4

TM

 

signals transmitted over coax or fiber-optic cable. Only one 

input can be active at a time. VMax4

TM

 

may come from a DMP 7000, another VIP 4500 

processor, or VIP 4510. Refer to 

Figure 5

 

A total of three processors may be linked together, allowing up to 12 different video sources 

to display. In this setup, the VMax4

TM

 

out from one VIP

 

is routed to the VMax4

on the 

second processor. This is repeated until all three processors are linked to obtain the 

maximum number of inputs.
