Troubleshooting
7.20 Inverter Current Abnormality
Error Code
L8
Method of Error
Detection
The error is detected by current flowing in the power transistor.
Error Decision
Conditions
When overload in the compressor is detected. (Inverter secondary current 16.1 A)
(1) 19.0 A and over continues for 5 seconds.
(2) 16.1 A and over continues for 260 seconds.
Supposed
Causes
Compressor overload
Compressor coil disconnected
Defective main PCB (A1P)
Troubleshooting
Disconnect the connection
between the compressor
and the main PCB. Turn the
power transistor check
mode setting ON in setting
mode 2.
Is the
secondary
current of the inverter
higher than 16.1 A, 260
sec. for each
phase?
Is the
compressor's coil
disconnected.
After
turning on again,
L8
blinks again.
Is the
inverter
output voltage
balanced (Normal if
within
±
5 V? Must be
measured when
frequency is
stable.)
Inspect the compressor
according to the diagnosis
procedure for odd noises,
vibration and operating
status of the compressor.
(R19191)
Compressor overload.
Inspect the compressor
and refrigerant system.
YES
Reset and restart.
NO
Replace the main PCB
(A1P).
Not balanced
NO
Replace the compressor.
YES
NO
Balanced
YES
Caution
Be sure to turn off the power switch before connecting or disconnecting
connectors, or parts may be damaged.
