If the need arises
Treatment in case of emergency
Treatment of overheating
When the water temperature warning light
is lit, flashing, and warning buzzer is ringing
When steam is rising from the hood, and
output of the engine is reduced
Signs of overheating

Stop the car in a safe place, and observe the
following.
Before taking action

Caution
When the water temperature is high, please
do not remove the radiator cap. Since the
pressure of the coolant in the radiator cap
can cause steam or hot water to blow out.
Do not touch the cooling fan. The fan might
start rotating suddenly
Treatment procedure
1.
Do not open the hood if steam is coming
out from the hood, stop the engine, until
the steam does not come out. Open the
hood and start the engine steam has gone
to a good flow of air
2.
If there is no steam coming from the hood,
open the hood while the engine is running
and hook the bonnet and ensure it gets a
good cross-breeze.

Advice
3.
After you have undertaken treatment 1 or 2.
Check the condition of the engine room. If the
state of the engine room, is as follows, stop
the engine and please contact the factory
service Daihatsu.

When the cooling fan is not rotating

When steam or hot water is leaking from
the hoses, etc.

When there is no water in the radiator
reservoir tank

When the fan belt is broken
4.
Turn off the engine until coolant temperature warning
light goes off, warning buzzer has stopped.
5.
When engine has cooled sufficiently,
check the amount of cooling water, loose
fan belt, check the presence or absence of
dirt or dust on the radiator core.
6.
When the cooling water is insufficient,
replenish the supply of cooling water,
please refer to the "Maintenance Notes"
for instructions.
To prevent overheating, do I try to check the
squid, such as the amount of leakage of
cooling water from the cooling water around
the Sun. (Cooling system, cooling water
inspection, see "Maintenance Notes" for
instructions)
