PREPARING FOR A TEST
It may be necessary to make a number of changes to the machine configuration to suit the product you are
testing.
6.1
F
ITTING A CARTRIDGE
Note:
It is not necessary to move the microscope to fit a cartridge.
Drive the cartridge holder up to the top of its stroke. Open up the guards. See illustration below. This will
engage the interlocks and so the machine will not respond to any commands until the guards have been
closed. The load cell will not initialise if the guards remain open. There is a ten-second period where the
load cell can be fitted and the guards shut without an error message appearing. If more then ten seconds is
taken to shut the guards an error message will appear. To remove the message and initialise the load cell
shut the guards and press retry. This screen is shown later in this section.
THERE MUST BE CLEARANCE TO ENSURE THAT ANY PART
OF THE LOAD CELL DOES NOT HIT THE TEST PIECE AND OR
THE WORK HOLDER.
Check that the tool guard is down protecting the tool (see section 5.5.2).
Open the front of
the guard first and
rest on the
support.
Open this
part of the
guard first
outwards
using the
handle.
