The guard may be operated manually off the machine as follows: -
Push the actuating lever on the rear of the cartridge against the spring.
The latch is now released
Rotate the lever to move the guard to the raised or lowered position.
Retracting the guard gives improved access to the tool.

ALWAYS ENSURE THE GUARD IS DOWN BEFORE
FITTING TO THE MACHINE.

OOL SAVE FEATURES

The tool save features makes it faster and easier to change the tool, cartridge and
workholder without damaging the tool.

Firstly it can be used to drive the cartridge up by a given distance quickly.  To set
this distance refer to the engineer’s manual.  By default it goes to the top of the
axis.  When the cartridge, tool or workholder has been changed, press the button
again to return to the original position.

The engineer can also set a time delay.  After the machine has been unused for
this length of time, the cartridge will drive to the top of the axis to reduce the risk
of accidental damage to the tool.  Press the Tool Save button to return to the
original position.

Note: Some tool save features will only function with a load cell installed and

initialised.
