5.4.3
Footswitch
An optional footswitch can be used to start or stop a test.
Note:
For comfort the footswitch may need to be raised from the floor.
5.4.4
Keyboard
There may be a PC style keyboard connected to the machine.
It is usually used to enter information at the start of a test run.
A compact keyboard will fit on the support at the front of the machine.
5.4.4.1
Starting test and grading – ‘T’ and numerical keys
When the keyboard focus is not on an editable control, the ‘T’ key can be used to start a test. The
numerical keys can also be used for grading.
5.4.4.2
Arrow key jogging
The arrow keys may be used to control the x-y movement of the table with finer movements more easily
than using the joysticks. Single presses of an arrow key will move the table a distance set in the
<Machine><Options> tab. The direction of the arrow points to the next object (i.e.
Å
key moves the
table to the right). If the arrow key is held down, after the first single step move, the table will be moved
continuously in the same direction. The speed of this move is dependent on the distance set for the single
step, and will be 24 steps per second.
Note:
Your machine may be set so that a keyboard is not necessary, therefore it may be missing or
hidden.
