Figure 6-19. Network Settings (Part 1)
Warning
The initial IP configuration is usually done directly at the host system using the
special procedure described in Table 4-1.
Warning
Changing the network settings of the DKVM-IP1 switch might result in losing
connection to it. In case you change the settings remotely make sure that all the
values are correct and you still have an option to access the DKVM-IP1 switch.
IP auto configuration
With this option you can control if the DKVM-IP1 switch should fetch its network settings
from a DHCP or BOOTP server. For DHCP, select “dhcp” , and for BOOTP select “bootp”
accordingly. If you choose “none” then IP auto configuration is disabled.
IP address
IP address in the usual dot notation.
Subnet Mask
The net mask of the local network.
Gateway IP address
In case the DKVM-IP1 switch should be accessible from networks other than the local
one, this IP address must be set to the local network router's IP address.
Primary DNS Server IP Address
IP address of the primary Domain Name Server in dot notation. This option may be left
empty, however the DKVM-IP1 switch will not be able to perform name resolution.
Secondary DNS Server IP Address
IP address of the secondary Domain Name Server in dot notation. It will be used in case
the Primary DNS Server cannot be contacted.
