Parameter Description 

Host Address 

The IP address of the host. 

Metric 

A value between 1 and 65,535 that 
will be advertised for the route. 

Area ID 

A 32-bit number in the form of an IP 
address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) that 
uniquely identifies the OSPF area in 
the OSPF domain. 

Route Redistribution Settings 

Route redistribution allows routers on the network

 that are 

running different routing protocols 

−

 to exchange routing 

information.  This is accomplished by comparing the routes 
stored in the various router’s routing tables and assigning 
appropriate metrics.  This information is then exchanged
