Remove the two shorter screws and washers from the lower
beacon bracket locations and remove the beacon assembly
from the front cover of the MPFR.

Remove the top and bottom brackets from the body of the
locator beacon.
(4)
Remove the fluosilicone seal from the bracket assembly.
(5)
Replacement of the beacon assembly is a reversal of the
procedure detailed in steps 1 to 4 above.
6.5 CVR SYSTEM CHECK
The CVR System Check is to be carried out at intervals not
exceeding six months elapsed time, or as agreed with the
relevant Regulatory Authority. Carry out the Audio System
Check as follows:
6.5.1 Equipment Required
The following equipment is required to carry out the check:
(1) 600

Headphone with 1/4 in. mono jack plug.
6.5.2 Procedure
(1) Connect the headphone jack to the Cockpit Control Unit
or Replay panel (if appropriate).
(2) Check the Cockpit Area Microphone by speaking in a
normal voice 15cm (six inches) away from the
microphone and note that the speech can be heard
without any significant distortion.
(3) For each non-area microphone channel, check for
proper recording of receiver audio, side-tone,
interphone, public address (if recorded) and boom
microphone (including ‘hot mic.’ function, i.e.
Interphone OFF).
NOTE:
There will be no delay between speaking and hearing
audio.
