d. Pour non-toxic antifreeze in all sink
drains until the antifreeze is
discharged overboard.
13. Fresh Water System:
a. Place FR WATER PUMP switch in
the OFF position.
b. Remove the fresh water supply by
opening the hot and cold faucets in
the galley for 10 minute intervals.
Repeat the procedure until the fresh
water tank is empty.
c. Open all faucets onboard - galley,
head, shower, vanity and cockpit
shower.
d. Disconnect inlet and outlet hoses
from fresh water pump. Make sure
accumulator tank is drained.
e. Remove fresh water filter bowl and
strainer. Clean, dry and replace
strainer bowl.

Drain the water heater. Lines from
the engine heat exchanger must be
disconnected. Drain exchanger and
lines.
g. Use low air pressure at fresh water
pump outlet hose to blow water from
all water lines.
h. Connect outlet hose to fresh water
pump. Pour approximately 1-1/2
ounces (0.04 L) of potable alcohol
into the pump inlet. Rotate pump
pulley two turns by hand and connect
inlet hose.
14. Refrigerator/Freezer:
a. Place REFRIG circuit breaker to the
OFF position.
b. Discard any ice cubes.
c. Wipe unit dry and leave the door
blocked open during storage.
15. Remove strainer and seacock drain
plugs to prevent damage from freezing.
16. Batteries:
a. Be sure the master battery switch is
in the OFF position. Remove
batteries from the yacht and store in
a nonfreezing area.
b. Put batteries on a wooden pallet or
bench. DO NOT store batteries
directly on a cement floor.
c. Keep batteries on a trickle charge.
Check and maintain electrolyte levels
regularly.
17. Interior Preparations:
a. Remove items that will hold moisture
and cause mildew such as life
preservers, towels, blankets,
cushions, mattresses, clothing,
curtains or canvas.
b. Scrub the inside of the yacht. Clean
the cabinets, drawers and
cupboards. Try to allow one day for
drying and airing out the cabin area
as weather permits.
c. If mattresses and cushions are left
onboard, stand or prop them up to
allow good air circulation around
them. Hang life preservers and other
equipment, to avoid mold and
mildew.
18. Exterior Preparations:
a. The bottom will require at least one
coat of anti-fouling paint before
beginning a new season. This can be
done when winterizing or at the start
of the new season. See your
Cruisers Yachts Dealer for paint
specifications for your area.
