7.2 Doing measurements
CAUTION!
Always check the instrument calibration before starting a set of
measures.
When ready, proceed with measurement by simply pressing the measure
button “H” (see figure
3
), and the red light will start to flash on the sensor
head, to indicate that the measurement is underway.
The red light “L” on the keypad (see figure
3
) will also start to flash.
The duration of measurement depends on the settings chosen from the
measurement menu (see paragraph 6.1). If the “
Warm up
” option is selected
from the settings on the measurement menu (see paragraph 6.1.0), the
following message may appear before reception of the measurement data,
depending on the internal temperature of the sensor (
Ti – inside
temperature
) and of the material in contact with the head (
To – outside
temperature
)

The control unit waits for the internal temperature of the sensor to reach the
temperature of the material, unless a constant value is set from the
measurement menu.
Once the ideal temperature has been reached, the instrument proceeds with
the sampling.
In any case, measurement can be interrupted at any time by pushing the
measure key again.
If the message "
OUT OF SCALE
" appears on the instrument, this means that
it is probably operating outside its operating parameters (for temperature
and/or dielectric). In this case, please proceed with the calibration if this has
not already been done (see paragraph 6.2.0).
