Configuring and Loading the Proofing Media
Using the Multi-Cassette Unit (MCU)
The MCU enhances automatic plate loading since it has five different
cassettes from which you can expose plates, and you can load different
plates in each of them. Furthermore, there is no need to release or open the
MCU when switching operation between cassettes. This feature is
especially useful when your work requires frequent plate changes. If you
know what plates are required for the next job, you can load them in one
of the cassettes that’s currently not in use.
When using the MCU, only one pre-defined cassette can be used for
proofing. The defined cassette may also be used for exposing plates. The
proofing tray can hold up to 15 sets of CMYK media.
The carrier and proofing tray must be inserted in the cassette before
sending a job to proof. The carrier and media will be automatically loaded
when a job will be sent to proof from the workstation.
If there will be a carrier on the drum and a job will be send to plate expose
from the workstation, the carrier will be unloaded automatically but a
request from the user to remove it from the conveyor will appear.
Note:
Cassette number 5 is by default the pre-defined cassette for proofing. If
you want to change the default cassette, call your service engineer or the Creo
Response Center.
