Traction Drive Cable Adjustment
WARNING: Drain the gasoline outdoors, away
from fire or flame.
1.
Remove the gas from the gas tank. Stand the snow
thrower up on the front end of the auger housing.
2.
Loosen the
bolts
on each side of the
bottom panel
(see
Figure 39).
3.
Remove the
bottom panel.
4.
Disconnect the
“Z” fitting
from the
drive lever
(see
Figure 37).
5.
Slide the
cable boot
off the
cable adjustment bracket
(see Figure 40).
6.
Push the bottom of the
traction drive cable
through the
cable adjustment bracket
until the
“Z” hook
can be re-
moved.
7.
Remove the
“Z” hook
from the
cable adjustment
bracket.
Move the
“Z” hook
down to the next adjust-
ment hole.
8.
Pull the
traction drive cable
up through the
cable ad-
justment bracket.
9.
Put the
cable boot
over the
cable adjustment bracket.
10. Install the
“Z” hook
to the
traction drive lever
(see
Figure 37).
11. To check the adjustment, depress the drive lever and
check the length of the
drive spring
(see Figure 41). In
correct adjustment, the length of the
drive spring
is
minimum 3 inches (76 mm)
maximum 3-3/8 inches (85 mm)
.
12. Install the
bottom panel
(see Figure 39).
13. Tighten the
bolts
on each side of the
bottom panel
