How to use the CraftDragon® ImPress for Hot foil Stamping (cont.)

1.

Insert your chosen die into the Imp.(1)

2.

Apply the Make-ready mat to the flat bed (7)  directly below where the Imp or print head will touch.

3.

Fix the positioning mat (3), if you have one, around the tower.

4.

Plug into the mains and switch on, following safety instructions

5.

Switch on power to the CraftDragon® ImPress using the green switch on the control panel. This will light up with a steady glow showing
that power is reaching the unit.

6.

The red pilot light will come on to indicate that the unit is heating up.

7.

Leave the unit to heat up for at least three cycles (ie the red light going on and off) and preferably for approximately 10 to 15 minutes to
ensure that heat is distributed evenly across the printing surface to give the best result.

8.

It is recommended that trial pieces are tested before commencing actual project.

·

Position a test piece of your selected material (paper, card, etc) on top of the make-ready mat

·

Place foil shiny side up on top of your test piece.

·

Using both hands, hold the handle of the press and bring it down firmly and with some pressure.

·

Hold for only a short time and then bring the handle back up with one hand whilst holding the work in place.

9.

Gently and slowly peel back the foil revealing your foiled print.

10.  The Platen (7) can be modified, using the tool provided, in the adjustment apertures in the well underneath the platen.
11.  When you are satisfied with the print, repeat the procedure on your actual project.
