GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
• This appliance must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding will
reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current. This
appliance is equipped with a cord having an appliance-grounding conductor and a grounding
plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING
Improper connection of the appliance-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check
with a qualified electrician or service representative if you are in doubt whether the appliance is properly
grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance; if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper
outlet installed by a qualified technician.
When you need an extension cord to plug in the product, use only a three-core-cable extension cord with
a three-pronged grounding plug and a three-pronged outlet that accommodates the product. If using an
extension cord is unavoidable, use one with grounding terminals for 120 V~, 60 Hz or higher. Replace a
damaged cord immediately. Remove any dust or water from extension cord. Failing to do so may result in
electric shock or fire.
• If the repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the grounding wire to
either flat blade terminal. The insulation wire with an outer green surface with or without yellow
stripes is the grounding wire.
• When you are not sure about grounding or whether the product is properly grounded, consult
with a qualified electrician or service technician.a grounding plug that looks like the plug
