User Manual
1. G eneral information
This document is intended for the installer and the end user. After the
system installation and commissioning make sure it is delivered to the
end user or the system manager.
The Inertial Accumulators have mainly two functions: hydraulic separa
-
tion and thermal flywheel.
The hydraulic separation is used to make the generator (boiler or heat
pump) circuit flow rates independent from those of the terminals. The
thermal flywheel function is used to reduce the number of hourly start-
ups of the generator with the consequent increase of circuit thermal iner
-
tia and more stable operating temperatures.
The Hot/Cold Inertial Accumulators (operating temperatures -10°C ÷
90°C/95°C) are intended for systems running annually that require accu
-
mulating chilled water during the summer and hot water during the win -
ter, while Inertial Accumulators for Chilled Water (operating temperatures
-10°C/-30°C ÷ 60°C) are intended for conditioning systems only.

Any use of the Inertial Accumulators other than the one stated in this doc
-
ument relieves the manufacturer of any liability and will void any warranty.
The products discussed in this document have been manufactured in
compliance with Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) for pressure equipment
concerning the fluid used and the relevant operating conditions.
2. Category identification
(Directive 2014/68/EU, 2009/125/CE, 2010/30/CE)
The full range of Inertial Accumulators has lower values than the thresh -
old values shown below:
- Container for water (group 2) having a vapour pressure value (at the
maximum allowable temperature) which is 0.5 bar lower than the nor -
mal atmospheric pressure (1013 mbar), maximum working pressure
PS < 10 bar, and not subject to CE marking according to what stated
in Art. 4.3 and listed in annex II tables 4 and 9. As stated in this di
-
rective, the correct manufacturing process (according to the compa -
ny Environment & Quality System UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 – UNI EN
14001:2004), ensuring safe use, and the manufacturer's identification
are guaranteed by the manufacturer.
3. Installation and Maintenance
- Inertial Accumulators must always be installed so that they are shel -
tered from atmospheric conditions, on an adequate and solid base,
far from open flames, heat sources, electric components that could
produce flames and/or sparks and in general from any possible
fire-triggering cause,
verifying, before making the connections, Cor -
rect balance that there is enough space for the extraction of the electric
heater, if present.
- Do not use the tank for not fixed installation or for transportation
- Should the room where the Inertial Accumulator or the ducts are in -
stalled be subject to temperatures < 0°C during the year, it is neces -
sary to provide adequate anti-freeze protection systems, such as, but
not limited to, the use of anti-freeze fluids, the installation of thermo
-
stats in the rooms or the programming of heating cycles by means of
the generator or the auxiliary electrical heating element (not supplied).
- Ensure that the technical rooms, where the Inertial Accumulators will
be located, have openings of sufficient size to allow them to be moved
outside without having to operate demolitions of any kind. The warran
-
ty does not cover any costs arising from defaults at this point.
- Ensure that the installation room of the Inertial Accumulator is equipped
with a drain (discharge) system appropriate to the accumulator volume
and any other equipment. The warranty does not cover any costs aris
-
ing from defaults at this point.
- The handling of the equipment whose weight exceeds 30 kg requires
the use of suitable means for lifting and handling. To this end, the con
-
tainers must only be handled when empty, using the specific platforms
or lifting eyebolts.
- Provide for an expansion system as well as safety and control
accessories as set forth by the legislation in force in the place of
installation.
- You are also reminded that the equipment must always be electrically
connected to the ground.
- The final user, or an appointed third party, is responsible for the
periodic maintenance of the system, and must be properly informed
about the procedure to follow. The efficiency and the durability of the
system strictly depend on its correct maintenance.
4. Connections
The plant connection diagram shown here within is intended solely as a
guideline and is not binding in as much as it is the job of the designer of
the plant onto which the water heater will be installed to evaluate, in ac
-
cordance with current installation norms, the best plant diagram for use in
compliance with limits set by data stated by the manufacturer.
5. Commissioning
Warning! Before commissioning, the entire system must
be thoroughly rinsed to prevent the entrance of foreign
objects, which could affect system operational safety
and damage its components. The warranty does not cover any
costs arising from defaults at this point.
