purposes and quick recognition of your Wi-Fi network, ARRIS recommends that you change
the default SSID.
Note:
When you change the SSID, any Wi-Fi devices that are connected to your Wi-
Fi network will be disconnected. The Wi-Fi devices must be reconnected to your Wi-Fi
network using the new SSID.
Do the following to change your Wi-Fi network name (SSID):
1. Open a web browser and log on to the SBG8300 to open the SBG8300 Web Manager.
See
(page 32) for more information, if necessary.
2. From any SBG8300 Web Manager screen, click the
Gateway
menu link and then click the
Connection
submenu options link.
3. Click
Wi-Fi
under the
Connection
submenu options to open the Gateway Connection Wi-
Fi screen.

4. Click the
2.4 GHz EDIT
or
5 GHz EDIT
button in the Home Wi-Fi Network section to select
the current Wi-Fi frequency range for your Wi-Fi home network.
