Treadmill Hardware Manual 1011-0002 v1.02
•
Ensure the Treadmill Controller front panel toggle is set to STOP
•
Place speed sensor on treadmill belt and securely fasten with screw nut in position shown
•
Using the dial on the Treadmill Controller front panel, adjust the speed to 88.7 meters/min
•
Set the electric stimulus frequency to 2Hz on Treadmill Controller front panel
•
Push the ODOMETER RESET button to initialize calibration procedure. The LCD on the front panel will
read
AutoCal Speed
•
Push the ODOMETER RESET button a second time to advance to belt calibration start. The LCD on the
front panel will read
Run to Start…
•
Set toggle to RUN to begin the series of belt speed and acceleration tests
•
Upon belt calibration completion, the most recent calibration is automatically saved, and speed sensor
counts (OD counts) are displayed. Obtaining count values between 4000-5000 indicates calibration was
successful
•
To exit the calibration, press the ODOMETER RESET button. A
Calibration Saved
message will be
displayed. To complete the process and easily return to the main menu, power off the unit and the
turn it back on using the switch located near the rear of the controller
8.9 Acceleration Settings
This option is used to set the acceleration rate and end speed of the treadmill belt when the treadmill belt
mode is set to ACCELERATION. The screen displays the acceleration units and three adjustable settings:
•
Acceleration Step:
0.0 to 25.5 meters/minute
•
Acceleration Interval: 0 to 255 seconds
•
End Speed:
0.0 to 102.3 meters/minute
The Ending Speed (E) is the target speed to accelerate or decelerate towards and maintain once achieved. The
Acceleration Rate (A) is determined by dividing the Acceleration Step (speed) by the Acceleration Interval
(time). Should any of the acceleration arguments be set to zero, then the acceleration is OFF, and the treadmill
belt will change speeds as fast as possible (100.0 meters/minute/second).
8.10 Operating Mode
For better stand-alone functionality when providing general-purpose exercise regiments, two additional
“limited” modes of operation are available. These modes automatically stop the treadmill belt when a set
duration of time or distance has elapsed. The durations are restored and will run again when the ODOMETER
RESET button is pressed.
Note: The Operating Mode has no effect during a PC-Controlled Experiment.
The three modes of operation are:
Accel:m/min/sec
A 1.01/1
E102.3
