6.2 The trimming operation is not being performed correctly
1)
Make sure the unit is used according to the instructions provided on section 4.2.1 “
Operating
precautions
” and try again
.
2)
Make sure that approved covers/envelopes are being used: the
Co
Librì
e-DaVinci
book covering machine can only be used to weld and trim
Co
Librì
marked covers and envelopes or other material approved by the manufacturer
(please
refer to the section 4.2.1 “Operating Precautions”)
3)
If the trimming operation
is not performed correctly
at the right/left side or in
the middle of the
cover/envelope, then the
problem might be caused
by an unparallel support
surface.
Try to move the
book covering machine
5/10 cm [2” – 4”] to the
right or to the left and
retry.
If the problem persists, place the machine on another support surface
(also refer to the
section 2.1- “Choosing the Installation Site”).

If the trim is correctly performed for the entire length of the cover/envelope, but the material
is not welded enough or it is too melted (
generation of plastic gloss
), the defect is caused by
a wrong welding temperature (
too long or too short welding time
). In this case, please refer
to section 6.3 “
Machine setting change
”.
The
Co
Librì
e-DaVinci
book covering machine comes from the factory already
adjusted and calibrated for the most common applications/installation sites.
The above problem could then result from an installation site where the temperature
does not fall with the permitted range (for further information please refer to section
2.1 - “Choosing the Installation Site”).
Should you be unsure as to whether you actually need to adjust the welding
temperature, kindly contact the Service Centre of the Manufacturer or of your
authorized Distributor to obtain the required assistance and information.
