HUB GEAR OIL LEVEL
Oil level should be checked after the first day of opera-
tion and then weekly thereafter. To check oil set fill plug slightly above center. Remove
plug. Oil should be filled to center line of hub. If lower fill to lower portion of plug with
synthetic 80-90W gear oil. IT IS normal for there to be small metal shavings on the
plug. Clean from plug.
WHEEL STUDS/LUG NUTS
Lug nut torque should be checked hourly for the first
day of operation and weekly there after. Loose lug nuts will damage studs and rim cen-
ter.
DISENGAGING
In the event of a immobilizing engine or hydrostat failure the drive
hubs can be disengaged to allow machine to be moved. To disengage remove the 2
bolts that hold the center cover on remove cover and flip over. Re-bolt cover back on
with nub facing in to disengage hub. Reverse to re-engage hub.
HUB SPINDLE (not shown)
Keep spindle area clear of tree rope or vines.
BRAKE & WHEEL MOTOR STUDS & FASTENERS (not shown)
The Auburn hub
has 2 studs that allow the brake assembly and wheel motor to couple to the hub.
Check to make sure stud or fasteners have not come loose.
HUB BOLTS (not shown)
All hubs are attached to the frame or steering spindle
with 8 bolts. Check to make sure bolts & nuts have not come loose or are missing.
WHEELS
DO NOT allow lug nuts to become loose or damage to rim will occur. If
wheel holes become oblong then rim will need to be replaced. NEVER weld on rim
cracks, or holes. EXPLOSION may occur causing sever injury or death.
VALVE STEM
Use the valve stem to add air to the tires or to check air pressure..
TIRES
Check tires regularly for damage or puncture. If tires develop gashes or
deep cuts it is recommended to change them as soon as possible.
