5.14 Cam switch / Relay control
5.14.1 Cam switch / relay control uses the physical inputs on the PLC to direct the inner
spout to an outlet and to “RESET” the machine. This interface is based on
Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) format. Physically, the electrician will route the
+24vdc signal from the PLC and route it through a 3
rd
party PLC, cam switch,
relay block, or other equipment to convert it to a BCD format and send that
signal back to the Power Select PLC. This option provides basic machine
control; however, any advanced functions or commissioning will have to be done
using the built in web interface or the HMI.
5.14.2 Example:
•
To direct the inner spout to outlet #3, energize inputs 8 and 9.
•
To direct the inner spout to outlet #14, energize inputs 9 and 12.
•
To “RESET” the machine, energize inputs 8, 9, 10, 11 at the same time.
•
When the inner spout has reached its destination, the program will energize
output 9 providing feedback that the spout is in position.
5.14.3 Refer to the target table below for the combination of inputs to energize to direct
the inner spout to the desired outlet.
Note: Input 12 is only used when there are
more than 12 outlets.
