Electric Bed Lift and Safety Catch
ELECTRIC BED LIFT AND SAFETY CATCH
See General Warnings on page 12.
SAFETY CATCH
The safety catch is located at the rear of the underside of the bed. Use the following steps to engage the safety catch.
See following WARNING and CAUTION.
WARNING
• Remove all cargo (including accessories) before raising the bed or servicing the vehicle. Ensure that
the safety catch is securely engaged. Do not close bed until all persons are clear of cargo bed area.
Keep hands clear of all crush areas. Keep entire body clear. Failure to heed this warning could
result in severe personal injury or death.
CAUTION
• The canopy frame must be disconnected from the top of the windshield frame before raising the bed.
Failure to do so will result in vehicle or canopy damage.
1. Remove canopy pins that secure the canopy frame to the top of the windshield frame.
2. Use the bed lift switch to raise the bed to its fully raised position.
3. Push the safety catch (1) toward the front of the vehicle until it locks into place (Figure 11) .
4. Use the bed lift switch to slowly lower the bed until the safety catch engages securely. See following WARNING.
WARNING
• Use caution when working under bed. Be sure safety catch is secure, otherwise the bed could fall,
resulting in severe personal injury or death.
Use the following steps to disengage the safety catch:
1. Use the bed lift switch to fully raise the bed.
2. Disengage the safety catch (1) from the underside of the bed by it pulling away from underside of bed (Figure 12) .
3. Lower the bed using the bed lift switch and holding it in a down (DN) position. The bed lift mechanism will make a
loud clicking sound to signal that the bed is in the rest position.
4. Connect the canopy frame to the top of the windshield frame by installing the canopy pins.
