Cleaning the Device and Accessories
CAUTION!
■
Empty and clean the dust container, the cyclone insert and the HEPA
fi
lter regularly
to prevent the motor from overheating.
■
Keep the motor unit away from water or other liquids to avoid electric shocks. Make
sure that no liquid gets into the motor unit during cleaning.
■
The HEPA
fi
lter is neither machine-washable, dishwasher-safe nor suitable for tum-
ble drying!
■
Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads to clean the de-
vice. These could damage the surfaces.
The HEPA
fi
lter may lose some of its colour over time. This is normal and does
not have any adverse effect on function.
Emptying the Dust Container
1. Press the release button on the dust container handle
and remove the dust container.
2. Hold the dust container over an open dustbin. The dis-
tance between the dust container and the dustbin should
be as short as possible to ensure that the dust from the
dust container falls into the dustbin only and does not
spill into the environment.
3. Press the button to open the dust container. The bottom
of the dust container will open and the dirt will fall out.
4. Close the bottom of the dust container again. The fas-
tener must be heard to engage in place.
5. Plug the closed dust container into the motor unit until it
is heard to engage in the locking mechanism.
Cleaning the Dust Container, Cyclone Insert and HEPA Filter
The cyclone insert is located in the dust container. The HEPA
fi
lter sits on the cyclone
insert.
1. Remove the dust container from the device and empty it
(see the “Cleaning the Device and Accessories” chapter,
section ”Emptying the Dust Container”).
2. Turn the lid of the dust container as far as it will go in
an anticlockwise direction. When the line marked on the
edge of the lid is next to the
symbol on the dust con-
tainer, remove the lid.
