Steam-Ironing
CAUTION!
❐
Never aim the steam directly at people, animals or plants. This can cause severe
scalding.
❐
Make sure when doing vertical ironing that there is plenty of space around the item
of clothing which is to be ironed. You may only perform vertical ironing if the item of
clothing is hanging on a hanger and cannot come into contact with other garments,
objects, people or animals.
❐
Note the tips provided in the “Ironing Recommendations” and “Use” chapters!
1. Fill up the water reservoir with water (see the "Filling the Water Reservoir" section).
2. Move the temperature control (
5
), depending on what the care label of the item to
be ironed states, to the medium (
••
) to maximum temperature. Steam-ironing is pos-
sible in this range. The temperature setting you want must be positioned next to the
marking (
4
).
3. Place the device to heat up upright on a stable,
fl
at, heat-resistant and moisture-
resistant surface.
4. Plug the mains plug of the device into a properly installed mains socket that is easily
accessible.
5. As the device heats up, the temperature control lamp (
2
) lights up. Wait until the
device has heated up and the temperature control lamp goes out.
6. Press the steam emission On/Off button (
11
). The steam control lamp (
12
) lights
up. Turn the steam quantity control (
10
) to set the desired quantity of steam (clock-
wise to increase; counter-clockwise to reduce). You can now start ironing.
7. When the water reservoir (
8
) is empty, steam will no longer be produced. Switch
off steam emission by pressing the On/Off button. Turn the steam quantity con-
trol (
10
) counter-clockwise as far as it will go
to position
Min,
pull out the mains plug
and top up the water reservoir in the manner described in the "Filling the Water
Reservoir" section.
8. After use, switch off steam emission and pull the plug out of the plug socket. Place
the device upright on its base and allow it to cool down completely. Then, empty then
the water reservoir (see below).
• For hanging textiles (jackets, suits, curtains) vertical steam-ironing is suitable. Hang
up the laundry which is to be ironed only in places where heat and moisture cannot
do any damage, e.g. NOT in front of wallpaper, windows or mirrors.
