Troubleshooting Common Installation Problems
ObjectStore problems
starting CEMF on
workstations with
16 GB of RAM or more
ObjectStore cannot start up properly on a Cisco EMF server installed on a
large workstation with 16 GB of RAM or more. Use the following steps to
correct the problem:
1.
Identify the CEMF AppsServer.ini and ObjectServer.ini failure in
<CEMF_ROOT>/log/sysmgr.log.
2.
Remove the partial EM Installation (mgcEMm and the hostEMm):
<CEMF_ROOT>/bin/cemf load -remove mgcEMm -skipportcheck
3.
Stop Cisco EMF:
<CEMF_ROOT>/bin/cemf stop
4.
Clear the cache files by deleting the files in /tmp/ostore:
rm -rf /tmp/ostore/*
5.
Change the directory by using the following command:
cd <CEMF_ROOT>/config/init
6.
Use the UNIX editing tool, vi, to change the cacheSize value in each file
listed below.
For example, for the first file, use vi to open the abstractionServer.ini
file. Locate the cacheSize = <value> line. Reduce the value by a factor
of 4 or set the cacheSize value to the value specified below (2).
Continue to edit all of the other files accordingly.
